WHY JUMP ELITE?
An ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tear is a devastating injury. Unfortunately, approximately 250,000 occur annually. Those most commonly suffering ACL tears are 14-18 years old.
An ACL tear can significantly impact a young athletes’ ability to participate in the activities they love not only as a youth, but also into adulthood. ACL injuries also have economic implications costing the United States 2 billion dollars annually. Research has shown that ACL injury rates are decreased by at least 50% due to specific prevention programs; however, athletes are not typically exposed to these programs unless they reach the collegiate level.
Elite Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy recognized the need of an injury prevention program for the most at risk age group. Jump Elite is a program specifically designed for middle school and high school athletes to minimize their risk for ACL injury.
WHAT IS JUMP ELITE?
